Sour Dough Starter

Bread & Roll Recipe

 

 

Starter

3/4 cup sugar

1 cup warm water

3 tablespoons instant potatoes

In medium bowl combine ingredients stirring with wooden spoon.  Put in a 3 pound margarine tub with 10 to 12 holes punched in the lid.  Leave at room temperature for 5 to 8 days until small bubbles come to the top and white skin appears.

After taking 1 cup of starter out always add the same ingredients above for starter again.

 

Bread Or Rolls Recipe

1/4 cup sugar

1/cup Wesson Oil

 1 1/2 teaspoons salt

1 1/2 cup warm water

1 cup starter

6 cups Pillsbury Bread Flour

Mix in large bowl the first 5 ingredients.  Add flour 1 cup at a time, mixing well after each cup.  Let rise overnight.  Next morning knead the dough and divide for loaves or rolls.  Let rise for 6 hours or longer until doubled in size.  Bake at 325 for 45 minutes for bread, and for rolls bake until golden brown.  Slice and spread with warm butter!
